2016 MAHTA AGM

The MAHTA Annual General Meeting will be taking place at 10:00 am on Saturday, February 6th at the Victoria Inn Hotel and Conference Centre located at 1808 Wellington Avenue in Winnipeg, MB.

At the AGM an election of available MAHTA Board positions will be taking place and we look to member volunteers to fill these important roles. 2016 is going to be a pivotal year for MAHTA and you, it's members. Decisions like the Association and members changing their professional title from an AHT to a VT, re-branding, social media, continuing education opportunities, strategic planning initiatives, conference agreement negotiation, increase in member and student relations as well as public awareness will be made this upcoming year.

Here are the upcoming Board of Director positions:

CONTINUING EDUCATION DIRECTOR
Co-Chair Continuing Education Committee comprised with volunteer members with the focus on membership continuing education initiatives and conference, as well as:

  • Serve as the Association's conference representatives with regards to the MVMA and submit reports and updates to the Board.
  • Prepare Continuing Education Committee meeting minutes
  • Work with staff on execution of continuing education events

RVTTC DIRECTOR

  • Participate in RVTTC conference calls and report to Board.
  • Act as the liaison for the student members, attend the awards banquets, give a presentation to students on membership and the national exam.
  • Prepare and present an annual report at the RVTTC’s AGM.

MARKETING DIRECTORS (2 positions available)
Chair Marketing Committee comprised with volunteer members with the focus on news articles, attending animal health related events, social media and merchandise. As well as:

  • Prepare committee meeting minutes
  • Work with staff on the creation of the newsletter, events, social media updates and merchandise
